No "not"

Why is it that when you tell someone they shouldn't do something, they get the urge to do it. The more you tell them not to do it, the stronger the urge to do it becomes. Is it rebellion or is it just the way we are made. I saw a "Do not Enter" sign and everyone that looked at it, looked like they wanted to go in just because. I caught people poking their noses in there, probably because it said not to enter. Why do we always want to disobey the rules? Personally I think our brains cannot process negativity properly, so we do the opposite by negating the negative in the statement. So Do not enter registers as Do enter.

BureaucraPs

Bureaucrats and politicians are useless and I don't know why we persist in electing career politicians. Let me get straight to the point. In the country formally known as Burma, there was recently a cyclone. The country was devastated, so as usual other countries offered aid. Like an idiot, the president refuses the aid. Of course his only reason is because he doesn't want it to look like the government can not support the people. To save face. The most ridiculous explanation ever giving for forcing people to suffer and die. By the way that country is one of the poorest known countries on the planet. The funny thing is, many government officials have used this excuse to be lazy for centuries. What never made sense to me is why we persist in electing these buffoons?

Free for all

I am a clerk at my church, and sometimes I have to ask people for their information, sometimes personal information. Of course I don't mean their social security number and bank account number, I'm talking about information like middle names, date of birth (including the year), marital status, etc. The problem here is that it can seem a bit invasive, and I have always been uncomfortable asking people for personal information, as personally I like to keep myself a mystery to everyone else. I have often wondered why everyone wants to know your business. Most companies/organizations don't need most if any of the information that they ask for, so why take it?

Confusious!?

Why do people never say what they mean. For some unknown reason people always say one thing to mean another. Apparently this is called "indefinite thinking." However this happens also to be one many meanings of this word. Thus science was developed, in essence, to stop Philosophers from Philosophizing. As we all know philosophy has no definite meaning. One uses deductive reasoning to draw out an "underlying meaning" but that also depends on the person. Each philosopher has a different meaning for a particular thing. The problem is that people are still using "indefinite thinking." We all use phrases like, "what I'm really trying to say is," or "what I mean is..." For odd reason people have a hard time skipping the bush and hitting the snake. Why do people find it so hard to say exactly what they mean?

dreaming about psychics

Is it possible to predict the future? Many people have claimed to do so. Edgar Cayce and Ms. Clio are two interesting examples of "psychics." I am not an expert on supernatural phenomenon. For that go to Dinar. I, being a Christian, obviously don't believe in that. However there have been instances I know of where something close to this has occurred. I had a grandfather who prayed alot, and apparently he was given signs of up coming events. When his eye jumped constantly, someone would die. It happened many times and each time it happened within a day. However although consistent it was proved during his dreams. If dreamed about a wedding, someone would die soon. If he dreamed about water, then someone would get sick. Many of the people I met have had friends or relatives with the same situation. The question is however, is this real or just coincidence.

Suicidal Barfaholics

Most people would agree that suicide is ridiculous. But most people are killing themselves almost daily. I went out with some friends recently and was reminded of why I don't drink. It is pointless, stupid, damaging, disgusting, and lets not forget, suicide. I've been with friends who got so wasted
that they don't know the difference between a tree and a person. Yes I have even seen my friends making out with trees and poles. Even consuming moderately doesn't help. It may be fun or distracting, it may even help your heart, but when the fun is over it just isn't worth it. One of my best friends, who shall remain nameless, thinks that the best nights he has are when he gets so drunk, he wakes up the next morning in his bed and can't remember how he got there. I have concluded that most alcoholics are addicted to the barf.

By the way here is an illustration (It's a link because some weaker people may join him)

Staring

When I'm bored on the train I like to analyze people. By analyzing I mean to try to figure things out about people just by looking at them. This means I have to stare at them for a long time. I have met quite a few people that way. I have been told by many people that a person could feel you looking if you stared at them too long. That is crap. What happens is you look around and see someone staring. Normal human beings cannot sense things. We do not have ESP and things like that.

Rob

There is a "person" that has had bad luck for a long time. He gets beat up a lot, sometimes by his own arms. He was stripped of his dignity, clothes and is forced to participate in shots unwillingly. I've seen him get his head knocked in the other direction. I feel sorry for him, but what the hell, he's just a mannequin.

Secrets

This Valentine's day a girl ( no you'll never know who she is) told me she had something important to tell me, and that she would tell me when she was ready. Now ignoring my suspicions on what she was going to tell me, if you have something important to say to someone shouldn't you tell them as soon as possible? Life is short, what if, God forbid, something happens and you never get to know what the person was trying to tell you.

New Topic People

Although the bass is quite interesting, based on some recent events I've decided that it would be better to blog about the people I meet instead. So that's the new topic, "The people I meet." basically I'll be talking about interesting things that happened to people I know and people I meet, when I meet them. Let's start by talking about a workshop I went to this weekend. I met a girl, named Raquel, who always has this blank expression on her face. When I talked to her, I had to pry information out of her. Also what amuses me about even more is that she lives and works in upstate yet she doesn't have a cellphone. She has a car though. Weird.
